Mark Durgan

This site will offer the most recent news updates regarding any releases of Mark Durgan's electro -acoustic recordings, as well as his more Noise-based work as Putrefier.

We will also supply any information regarding upcoming collaborative works and live performances.

Since 1986 Mark Durgan has released his recordings via a number of various legendary labels such as Broken Flag, MSBR, RRRecords, Harbinger Sound, Artware and others. Plus more recent releases on prominent newer labels such as Gods Of Tundra and Pan. Most of these have been under the Putrefier name. More recently he has been working and releasing material under his own name. Using an array of homemade devices, Modular, 'pressure' sensitive synthesisier and environmental sounds to create subtle electro-acoustic compositions with a flicker of Musique Concrete intuition.

Over the years he has played numerous shows and events around the UK and the globe, including tours of Europe, Scandinavia and Japan. The most recent festival appearances have been at No Fun (Stockholm), Colour Out Of Space (Brighton), The Lowest Form Of Music (London) , Broken Flag - Never Say When Event (London) and more recently at the HCMF performing sound for Maja Ratkje spectacular choral event Crepuscular Hour.
